The organisation was the first body accredited by the UK government to inspect and license organic food and farming. It can license organic products and processes of all kinds, as well those which do not fall under the legal requirements of the EU organic standards (for instance, OF&G has a standard for cosmetics and bodycare).
With its headquarters in the county of Shropshire (next to the Welsh borders) OF&G operates across Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as in the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
