Wearing that tractor with pride
We were absolutely delighted today to receive photographs of a young man proudly wearing his new jumper – made by his grandmother to the Farmers Weekly pattern we sent her.
We’re told it made young Freddie’s Christmas when he opened up this pressie, because he’s tractor mad.
His gran was one of the many people who have bombarded us with requests for copies of the pattern, which Farmers Weekly have graciously okay’d us to pass on [if you don't know the long-running saga of 'The Jumper', you might want to click here].
We’re told that Freddie absolutely had to have a red tractor on his jumper. We approve of that – it’s what we plumped for on the original.
Freddie’s jumper made such an impact while he was out for a walk one day, it got him a sit on a real tractor! A passing farmer was so impressed he invited the young tractor nut up into the cab for his first taste of driving his dream machine (pic below).
Enjoy your jumper, Freddie, and don’t forget to put in your order to gran for next Christmas, when you’ll be needing the next size up…
Our thanks to gran, June, for taking the time to share this with us.

Freddie looks great in his new jumper. It suits him better than my version looked on me! It gets the Farmers Weekly seal of approval!
PS If Caroline comments on this post she will now shout at me for over-enthusiastic use of exclamation marks. I can’t justify it – other than that is what the excitement of a tractor jumper can do for a woman….
PPS Do you lot need to rebrand as OF&K&G? Knitting seems to becoming a core function of the organisation.
Thanks for the comment flood Isabel
And you can’t use too many exclamation marks!!!!
I imagine June will be delighted with the official seal of approval. Maybe she should sew on a patch stating that! (Look, another exclamation mark!)
As for OF&K&G, one can only hope the knitting obsession may begin to wind down – eventually. Otherwise we’ll have to get our designer to work on a new logo.
Many thanks for the pattern, I’m glad you liked the photo as much as I liked the pattern. A very happy little boy. A digger next, maybe ??? !!! June
